The Benarasi Girl Style
Its November officially!! I don’t even know where the time is flying. This month marks the beginning of Holiday Season, rich colors, rich fabrics, parties and a lot of fun and bonding with friends and family.
I am from Benares city, it’s one of the oldest cities in the world but its famous for its silk and silk textiles.
The jacket that I’m wearing here is made from pure silk fabric with floral motifs, its a heavy brocade woven with silk and gold threads. Its known as Kim-Khab and its one of the richest and prettiest fabric to own. Its completely hand woven and the range of colors it comes in, is incredible. To read more about this fabric please go to
I salute to all the talented weavers, words fail to pen down their talents. From centuries, Benares sarees and textiles have mesmerised the world, its a luxury in one’s closet. The photos also don’t bring justice to how magnificent it looks. I got this jacket made from a local tailor there and since then I’ve worn it on so many occasions and on so many outfits. It provides the perfect warmth needed during this weather and the perfect oomph too for the festive season.
Here I’ve paired this with a blue velvet top , black tights and calf length patent boots. The velvet is very much on trend these days and I feel it can never be out of trend anyways. Accessories are simple as well, as the jacket does all the task of glamming up the entire look.
I would request everyone to try this fabric once. The beauty and the vibrancy will blow you away!!!
Until next time
